The End of 2010

After an interesting year, we went out to the Palisadoes strip to catch the fireworks.

This was my first time experiencing the fireworks from the strip, as i was usually away for the hols...
The anticipation was there, camera set up on the tripod and remote shutter release rearing and ready to go.

I heard stories of past years, and some of those stories i saw through my own eyes that night...the cars parked at the side of the road, the traffic building up as the time drew near, people lining up with champagne, snacks, sweaters, and family to watch the fireworks and welcome the new year.

However, one story that did not come through was the length of time the fireworks were shown...in previous years, i was told...the fireworks went on for at least 20 minutes...

This time, it went on for 9 minutes (i kid you not). I found myself looking out at the barge, half expecting another round of fireworks to shoot up into the skies...then remembering that 2010 was a recession year, and i should just take what i got and run with it.

So i did....
